On September 25, 2019 EICTP President Herbert Scheibner attended a Round Table Discussion together with prominent experts, military representatives and academic scholars, and Prof. Dr. Bruce Hoffman, the world-renowned expert of global affairs and terrorism researcher from Georgetown University (Washington D.C.), at the National Defense Academy in Vienna. Upon invitation by the University of Vienna, the U.S. Embassy in Vienna, the National Defense Academy, the ISP research institute and by EICTP, Prof. Hoffman provided invaluable insights into current terrorist threats and the resulting future challenges for the global community.
This prominent Round Table was followed by an evening event with Prof. Hoffman on „Terrorism: A Continuing Threat – Recent Developments and Trends“, where EICTP President Scheibner gave a welcome address before numerous guests at the Defense Academy.
